It is an honour and a privilege to continue serving as Minister for Resources and Northern Australia in the incoming Morrison Coalition Government.

I look forward to working with the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister and entire Liberal National team to continue to grow our world class resource sector, develop the opportunities that patently exist in northern Australia and fight for the jobs of hardworking Australians who work in our resources industry and in northern Australia.

As an LNP Senator for Queensland, my focus has always been on delivering for the people of Queensland. I congratulate my Central Queensland colleague Michelle Landry on her elevation to the role of Assistant Minister for Children and Families. Michelle’s genuine passion for creating a better future for the families of Central Queensland will now extend to the rest of the nation and I’m sure she will excel in the role.

I congratulate my LNP colleagues David Littleproud, Steven Ciobo, Karen Andrews, Peter Dutton, Scott Buchholz and Stuart Robert on their roles within the new Ministry and acknowledge the service of my former LNP Ministerial colleagues John McVeigh, James McGrath and Keith Pitt. I also acknowledge the hard work and achievements of my Nationals colleague David Gillespie.
