New Community Benefit Program for Kimba, Hawker and Quorn communities

The Australian Government has today announced a new $4 million funding program for the communities being considered for the site of the National Radioactive Waste Management Facility. Under the new Community Benefit Program, up to $2 million in grants will be given to each of the two communities considering the facility, around Kimba and Wallerberdina Station. Read more

Undercover crops to be investigated in Northern Australia

Australia’s north could be on the way to becoming Asia’s salad bowl through more use of protected cropping systems by growers. A new project backed by the Cooperative Research Centre for Northern Australia (CRCNA) will investigate the best way to support growers wanting to set up protected cropping systems in Western Australia, the Northern Territory and Queensland. Around $443,000 will be invested in the project which will run for two years. Read more
